Moral Ambiguity And A Slow Build Tension Distinguish This British Espionage Drama
"Hunted" is an eight part British espionage drama created by Frank Spotnitz, who worked on some of "The X-Files" most memorable episodes as a producer and writer. Premiering on both BBC1 in England and Cinemax in America, it seems unlikely (as of this review date) that the program will return for a second season with BBC1 having already passed on its option and Cinemax still considering its position. So, I think it's best to view "Hunted" as a self-contained entity and judge it as one complete story. It's a shame, though, I think it had the potential to develop into something richer and more intriguing with different narrative threads. While many have tried to label this as some sort of an "Alias" clone (it even stars one of that show's alums, Melissa George), I don't really see the comparison as apt. Both programs have international intrigue, a strong female protagonist and plenty of fisticuffs. "Hunted," though, is not episodic. It has a singular plot, for the most part, that...

Out of breath
Melissa George is so incredibly beautiful that they have to dress her in wool caps and sloppy clothes to bring her into focus . Her character ( Sam ) is a complex fighting human working for a mysterious agency with a cast of characters one soon learns cannot be trusted . She becomes everybody's favorite ice maiden as she kicks and shoots her way through this labyrinth of murky agendas. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier , Spy meets the Warrior Princess . " The Bitch is Back. Stone cold sober as a matter of fact ! "

Excellent - If you like the Spooks style of programme!
I love Spooks so this was a no brainer for me, plus Melissa is one of those actresses whom you either love or hate - I think she is excellent and in this series she professionally portrays dramatic scenes that made it all the more believable. So, if you are a BBC/Spooks/make-you-think-about-it-more style of British drama freak, then you will really enjoy this, but if you like the more simple American style of "Cops and Robbers" show, then I would not suggest this for you!
